KX-TGA740B Panasonic- Changing Voicemail Message?

I am trying to change the VM message on this phone, I can pre-record and save the message and the first time I call it - its the correct one. But if someone calls right after or wheil the phone is in use the VM is the old one. Any suggestions?? Ive checked the webpage and tried unplugging.
