KX 250 1999 bottom end reassembly problems?

so i'm trying to reassembly the two halves of the crankcase. When I press the crank into the left side everything is fine. The problem comes when I tighten the crankcase bolts...the transmission gears freeze(any torque on the bolts at all). I've tried the old trick of hitting the clutch transmission gears with a rubber hammer to set the shaft into the bearing...no luck. My clymers got lost during my move so ive been working off of internet diagrams. Please help...worst case scenario warped case halves? Ive taken this thing apart 4x so far...im getting sick of it.......aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
